Sea Turtle Rescue
The Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation facility is a rescue and rehabilitation center for sick or injured sea turtles. As a facility that also benefits a zoo visitor’s awareness about the animals’ environment, the firm’s vision arose around a whimsical idea of what a Jersey Shore Seaside animal hospital might be. The Victorian references include a mansard tower, mimicked shutters and the suggestion of a seaside widow’s walk. As a functioning medical center, sea turtles are treated and ultimately released back into their natural habitat. The new facility is complete with a triage/ intake area, ICU isolation and a general tank room where turtles can be observed by zoo visitors while undergoing rehabilitation.
